Selecting Your Material

Choosing the right material is an important decision and can be a challenge for homeowners while doing their household remodeling.

The first step is understanding the differences in the materials available.

Granite is a durable stone that is great to use in almost any application, although it is porous so it requires sealing annually.

Quartz, or Engineered Stone, is a man-made material that is just as strong and durable as Granite, but it doesn’t stain or require any sealing. It is also the most environmentally friendly material offered on the market.

Marble is a beautiful but very porous and soft stone which makes it susceptible to scratching and staining. You can help to prevent staining with regular sealing, but it’s still best to avoid its use in high traffic areas such as kitchens.

Quartzite is a gorgeous material that resembles marble but with the durability of Granite. However, it is such an extremely hard material that fabrication is difficult.

With so many colors available, we know it can be a daunting decision. We suggest you bring a sample of your cabinet door and a picture of the kitchen or bathroom to match to the material.
